AB 2450, as introduced, Logue. Specialized license plates.

Existing law authorizes the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to issue specialty license plates, including environmental license plates and specified special environmental design license plates. Under existing law, a state agency is authorized to apply to the DMV to sponsor a specialized license plate program, and the DMV is required to issue those license plates if the agency meets certain requirements.

This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would authorize the issuance of a specialized license plate that promotes awareness of kidney disease and bears the logo of the National Kidney Foundation.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2legislation that would authorize the issuance of a specialized license
3plate that promotes awareness of kidney disease and bears the logo
P2    1of the National Kidney Foundation, with the proceeds of sales of
2the plate to be provided to the National Kidney Foundation.
