Senate Resolution No. 19—Relative to California Radiologic Technology Week.

P1    1WHEREAS, Radiologic technologists play an integral part of
2the healthcare system by operating the diagnostic x-ray equipment
3that produces x-ray images and assisting radiologists and other
4physicians to achieve efficacious diagnosis; and

5WHEREAS, Diagnostic medical imaging and radiation therapy
6performed by radiologic technologists save lives, yet few people
7are aware of what these professionals do; and

8WHEREAS, The diagnostic medical imaging community is like
9minded in caring deeply for those who require medical attention;
10and

11WHEREAS, There are 300,000 imaging technologists
12nationwide and 20,000 imaging technologists in California who
13are dedicated to being patient advocates; and

14WHEREAS, The California Society of Radiologic Technologists
15(CSRT), established in 1938 as the California Society of X-Ray
16Technicians, is a professional organization that represents
17radiologic technologists in the State of California; and

18WHEREAS, Throughout the country, organizations such as
19CSRT will recognize those individuals who use diagnostic and
20therapeutic radiologic technology on a daily basis to care for
21patients by celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week
22from November 3, to November 9, 2013; and

23WHEREAS, CSRT will be hosting radiologic technologists and
24imaging specialists from across the State of California at the CSRT
P2    1Annual Conference, entitled “Medical Imaging: From Acquisition
2to Innovation,” on November 9, 2013; now, therefore, be it

3Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, That the Senate
4hereby recognizes the week of November 3, to November 9, 2013,
5as California Radiologic Technology Week and acknowledges the
6California Society of Radiologic Technologists commitment to
7patient care and radiologic safety; and be it further

8Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of
9this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
