   An act relating to student financial aid.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 229, as introduced, Knight. Student financial aid fraud.
   Existing law establishes various student financial aid programs
that are funded by the state or a public postsecondary educational
institution, and also establishes the Student Aid Commission as the
primary state agency for the administration of state-authorized
student financial aid programs for students attending all segments of
postsecondary education.
   This bill would express the Legislature's intent to enact
legislation that would address student financial aid fraud.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would address student financial aid fraud.
