   SB 280, as introduced, Lieu. State government: data collection.
   Existing law requires state agencies to follow specific procedures
when collecting data relating to the statistical tabulation of
minority groups.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would improve data collection by state agencies on
sexual orientation and gender identity.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would improve data collection by state agencies on
sexual orientation and gender identity.
