Existing law requires the Trustees of the California State University to establish a supplemental salary program in order to improve the recruitment and retention of faculty in specified academic disciplines and requires the University of California to administer the Community-Based Health Professions Education Partnership Program.
This bill would require the California State University to increase the compensation of physicians employed at student health centers on campuses of the California State University until the compensation is comparable to the compensation earned by physicians employed at student health centers on campuses of the University of California. The bill would request the University of California to increase the compensation of physicians employed at student health centers on campuses of the University of California if the compensation of physicians employed at a student health center on a different campus of the University of California is increased.

Section 89528.5 is added to the Education Code,

Section 92612.5 is added to the Education Code, to
10read:
The University of California is requested to increase
12the compensation of physicians employed at student health centers
13on campuses of the University of California if the compensation
14of physicians employed at a student health center on a different
15campus of the University of California is increased.
