An act to add Sections 89528.5 and 92612.5 to the Education Code, relating to postsecondary education employees.

SB 495, as amended, Yee. Postsecondary education employees: physicians.

Existing law begin insert establishes the California State University and the University of California as 2 of the segments of public postsecondary education in this state. Existing law end insert requires the Trustees of the California State University to establish a supplemental salary program in order to improve the recruitment and retention of faculty in specified academic disciplines begin insert , end insert and requires the University of California to administer the Community-Based Health Professions Education Partnership Program.

This bill would begin delete require end delete begin insert encourage end insert the California State University begin delete to increase the compensation of physicians employed at student health centers on campuses of the California State University until the compensation is comparable to the compensation earned by physicians employed at student health centers on campuses of the University of California. The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 89528.5 is added to the Education Code,
to read:

89528.5.

at student health centers on campuses of the University of
