SB 572, as introduced, Price. Employee organizations: representation.
Existing law authorizes recognized employee organizations to represent their members in their employment relations with public agencies. Existing law also authorizes an employee to appear on his or her own behalf regarding employment relations with the employing public agency.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 3503 of the Government Code is amended
2to read:
Recognized employee organizations shall have the right
4to represent their members in their employment relations with
5public agencies. Employee organizations may establish reasonable
6restrictions regarding who may join and may make reasonable
7provisions for the dismissal of individuals from membership.
8Nothing in this section shall prohibit any employee from appearing
P2 1in hisbegin insert or herend insert own behalf in hisbegin insert or herend insert employment relations with
2the public agency.
