An act to amend Section 8160 of the Government Code, relating to
state government.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 704, as introduced, Walters. Capitol Area Plan.
Existing law designates the Capitol Area Plan as approved by the
Director of General Services, as specified, as the official state
master plan for development in the City of Sacramento's central city.
Existing law requires the plan to be used as a guide for the
location of state buildings and other facilities in the metropolitan
area.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these
provisions.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 8160 of the Government Code is amended to read:
8160. (a) The plan for the
location of state buildings and other improvements in the City
of Sacramento's central city of the City of Sacramento
, approved by the director on March 15, 1977, and titled
"Capitol Area Plan," is the official state master plan for
development in the central city. It is hereby designated
the Capitol Area Plan. It shall be a guide for future state
policy in the expansion of the state's physical plant and in the
locating of state buildings and other facilities in the metropolitan
area.
(b) The Capitol Area Plan shall be both of the following:
(1) The official state master plan for development in the central
city.
(2) A guide for future state policy in the expansion of the state'
s physical plant and in the locating of state buildings and other
facilities in the metropolitan area.
(c) Any changes in the objectives of the
Capitol Area Plan shall be approved by a majority vote of both houses
of the Legislature.
