SB 748, as introduced, Galgiani. Structural pest control operators.
Existing law establishes licensing provisions for structural pest control operators, as specified. Existing law requires an applicant for an original field representative’s license to submit a written application to the registrar of the structural pest control board, as specified.
This bill would make a technical nonsubstantive change to those provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 8564 of the Business and Professions
2Code is amended to read:

4license, an applicant shall submit to the registrar an application in
5writing containing a statement that the applicant desires the
6issuance of a field representative’s license under the terms of this
7chapter.
8The application shall be made on a form prescribed by the board
9and issued by the registrar in accordance with rules and regulations
10adopted by the board, and shall contain the following:
P2 1(a) The length of time during which the applicant has engaged
2in any
work relating to pest control.
3(b) The name and place of business of the person who last
4employed him or her.
5(c) The name of the person by whom the applicant is employed.
6(d) The name of the registered company by which the applicant
7is to be employed.
8(e) The fees prescribed by this chapter.
9The board shall not accept any application for a field
10representative’s license in Branch 1 unless the applicant submits
11proof satisfactory to the board that he or she has had six months’
12training and experience in the practice of fumigating with
13poisonous or lethal gases under the immediate supervision of an
14individual licensed to practice fumigating, or the equivalent of that
15training and experience.
16The board shall not accept any application for a field
17representative’s license in Branch 2 unless the applicant submits
18proof satisfactory to the board that he or she has had training and
19experience in the practice of pesticide application, Branch 2 pest
20identification and biology, pesticide application equipment, and
21pesticide hazards and safety practice under the immediate
22supervision of an operator or field representative licensed in Branch
232, or the equivalent of that training and experience.
24The board shall not accept any application for a field
25representative’s license in Branch 3 unless the applicant submits
26proof satisfactory to the board that he or she has had training and
27experience in the practice of pesticide application, Branch 3 pest
28identification and biology, pesticide application equipment,
29pesticide hazards and safety practices, structural repairs, and
30structural inspection procedures and report writing
under the
31immediate supervision of an operator or field representative
32licensed in Branch 3, or the equivalent of that training and
33experience.
