Military and Veterans Code clean up.
DESCRIPTION
Existing law:
The California Military and Veterans Code was established
generally by Chapter 389, Statutes of 1935. The Code contains
statutory provisions relating to the armed forces and militia of
the State, veterans' affairs, welfare and aid, institutions and
buildings.
This bill: is a committee bill that corrects technical errors
and outdated code references.
COMMENT
References to the federal Department of Veterans Affairs : The
Department of Veterans Affairs Act of 1988 (Public Law 100-527)
transformed the former United States Veterans Administration, an
independent government agency established in 1930, into a
Cabinet-level United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
California statutes still contain some outdated references to
the U.S. Veterans Administration.
