DIGEST : This bill corrects technical errors and outdated
California Military and Veterans Code (MVC) references.
ANALYSIS : Existing law, the MVC was established generally by
Chapter 389, Statutes of 1935. The MVC contains statutory
provisions relating to the armed forces and militia of the
State, veterans' affairs, welfare and aid, institutions and
buildings.
This bill is a Senate Veterans Affairs Committee bill that
corrects technical errors and outdated code references.

Department of Veterans Affairs Act of 1988 transformed the
former United States Veterans Administration, an independent
government agency established in 1930, into a Cabinet-level
United States Department of Veterans Affairs. California
statutes still contain some outdated references to the U.S.
Veterans Administration.
