   An act to amend Section 31 of the Vehicle Code, relating to
vehicles.

   SB 994, as introduced, Monning. Vehicles.
   Existing law prohibits a person from giving, either orally or in
writing, information to a peace officer while in the performance of
the officer's duties under the provisions of the Vehicle Code when
that person knows that the information is false.
   This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this
provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 31 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:
   31.   No   A  person shall  not
 give, either orally or in writing, information  that the
person knows is false  to a peace officer  while in the
performance of   who is performing  his  or her
 duties  under   pursuant to  the
provisions of this code  when such person knows that the
information is false  .
