An act to amend Section 6697 of the Health and Safety Code,
relating to sanitary districts.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 1169, as introduced, Anderson. Sanitary districts: district
taxes.
Existing law establishes the Sanitary District Act of 1923, which
authorizes the formation of a sanitary district within an area, as
specified. Existing law allows a sanitary district to issue bonds.
Existing law authorizes district taxes to be assessed, levied, and
collected to pay the principal and interest of the bonds issued by
the district, to raise money for specified purposes, to pay any
lawful claims against the district, and to pay the running expenses
of the district.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these
provisions.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 6697 of the Health and Safety Code is amended
to read:
6697. District taxes may be assessed, levied, and collected for
any or all of the following purposes:
(a) To pay the principal and interest of the bonds issued by the
district.
(b) To raise money for any of the purposes stated in Sections
6512 and 6660 hereof .
(c) To pay any lawful claims against the district.
(d) To pay the running expenses of the district.
