An act relating to school facilities.

SB 1421, as introduced, Fuller. School facilities: schoolsites on military bases.

Existing law establishes a system of public elementary and secondary schools in this state, and provides for the funding of the construction of new school facilities and the modernization of existing facilities. Existing federal law provides for construction funding assistance for schoolsites that are located on United States military bases and that meet specified criteria.

This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would provide matching school facilities funding to schoolsites that are located on United States military bases and eligible for federal construction funding assistance.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2legislation that would provide matching school facilities funding
3to schoolsites that are located on United States military bases and
4eligible for federal construction funding assistance.
