The Personal Income Tax Law and the Corporation Tax Law allow various credits against the taxes imposed by those laws.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to establish a tax credit for the video game industry.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2legislation that would establish a tax credit for the multi-billion
3dollar video game industry that would offer incentives to the
4numerous video game developers, as well as the small start-up
5companies developing apps and smartphone software, to encourage
6these businesses to stay, or locate, in California.
