                                Richard Gordon, Chair

          ACR 30
          (Irwin) - As Introduced February 24, 2015

          SUBJECT: Armed Forces Day.

SUMMARY: Honors and recognizes the service and sacrifice made
by members of the Armed Forces and their families on the
occasion of Armed Forces Day on May 16, 2015. Specifically,
this resolution makes the following legislative findings:

1)Armed Forces Day was created in 1949 in connection with the
consolidation of the military services in the United States
Department of Defense to honor the men and women who are
serving in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast
Guard, including the National Guard and Reserves.

2)Members of the Armed Forces have performed tremendous service
on behalf of the United States; and, some have been injured
and killed in operations to bring peace and stability in the
            name of democracy.

3)All Americans appreciate the sacrifices of those who bravely
serve our country, and acknowledge those businesses and
employers that accommodate those service people who are called
            abroad to defend their nation.
