House Resolution No. 25—Relative to Immigrant Heritage Month.

P1    1WHEREAS, Generations of immigrants from all around the
2world built our country’s economy and created our nation’s unique
3character; and

4WHEREAS, Immigrants continue to develop and expand
5businesses, innovate, strengthen our economy, and create American
6jobs in California; and

7WHEREAS, Immigrants fundamentally enrich the extraordinary
8character of our nation with their unique cultures, heritages, and
9experiences; and

10WHEREAS, Immigrants have been tireless leaders, not only in
11securing their own rights and ensuring access to equal opportunity,
12but also in campaigning for a fairer and more just society for all
13Americans; and

14WHEREAS, Despite countless contributions of immigrants, we
15have frequently overlooked and undervalued the role of immigrants
16in building and enriching our nation, both throughout our history
17and in the present day; now, therefore, be it

18Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, That the
19Assembly proclaims the month of June 2015 as “Immigrant
20Heritage Month”; and be it further

P2    1Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies
2of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
