House Resolution No. 25—Relative to Immigrant Heritage Month.

P1    1WHEREAS, Generations of immigrants from all around the
2world built our country’s economy and created our nation’s unique
3character; and

4WHEREAS, Immigrants continue to develop and expand
5businesses, innovate, strengthen our economy, and create American
6jobs in California; and

7WHEREAS, Immigrants fundamentally enrich the extraordinary
8character of our nation with their unique cultures, heritages, and
9experiences; and

P2    1WHEREAS, Immigrants have been tireless leaders, not only in
2securing their own rights and ensuring access to equal opportunity,
3but also in campaigning for a fairer and more just society for all
4Americans; and

5WHEREAS, Despite countless contributions of immigrants, we
6have frequently overlooked and undervalued the role of immigrants
7in building and enriching our nation, both throughout our history
8and in the present day; now, therefore, be it

9Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, That the
10Assembly proclaims the month of June 2015 as “Immigrant
11Heritage Month”; and be it further

12Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies
13of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
