The following information is revised to reflect amendments
adopted by the committee on August 27, 2015
Bill
Summary: AB 74 would require annual unannounced inspections of
all licensed child day care centers and family child care homes
on and after January 1, 2019.
Fiscal
Impact: First-year licensing costs to the Department of Social
Services of $13.5 million and $10.5 million (General Fund)
annually thereafter.
Author
Amendments: Delete provisions related to adult facilities and
require annual inspections of child day care centers and family
day care homes commencing January 1, 2019.
