          DIGEST:   This resolution designates the Golden Valley Road  
          Bridge over State Highway Route (SR) 14 in Santa Clarita as the  
          Connie Worden-Roberts Memorial Bridge.  This resolution further  
          requests that the Department of Transportation erect appropriate  
          signs upon receiving donations from non-state sources to cover  
          the costs.

          ANALYSIS:    This resolution designates the Golden Valley Road  
          Bridge over SR 14 in Santa Clarita as the Connie Worden-Roberts  
          Memorial Bridge.

          Comments
          
          Purpose.  The author introduced this resolution to honor the  
          life and service of Connie Worden-Roberts.

          Background on Ms. Worden-Roberts.  Connie Worden-Roberts was  
          nicknamed "the Road Warrior" for her efforts on behalf of Santa  
          Clarita Valley's   transportation systems.  She served as the  
          vice-chair of the Santa Clarita Formation Committee and on the  
          city's first planning commission.  The Golden Valley Road Bridge  
          was one of her projects.

          Ms. Worden-Roberts also served as chairwoman of the League of  
          Women Voters of Los Angeles County, founder of the Valley  
          Industry Association, former chairwoman of the board and  
          director of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, and as  
          a member of many more community organizations.  

          Ms. Worden-Roberts passed away on August 12, 2014.
