          SUMMARY:


          This measure designates, as the "Ventura County Deputy Sheriff  
          Peter Aguirre Jr. Memorial Highway," the portion of State Route  
          33 from West Ojai Avenue to Fairview Road in Ventura County.

          Minor State Highway Account costs to Caltrans to make and erect  
          appropriate signs; these costs are fully covered by donations.


          COMMENTS:


          Purpose. This measure honors Sheriff Aguirre, who was shot and  
          killed in the line of duty on July 17, 1996.
