Specifically, this resolution makes the following legislative findings: 1)California's 76 fairgrounds represent an important public asset, providing public recreation, education, and community unity to over 20 million Californians every year. ACR 186 Page 2 2)California's fairgrounds provide vital emergency services as fire camps, disaster relief centers, training, and staging areas as well as serving as year-round centers for economic activities generating millions of dollars in tax and employment income for the state and local governments. 3)California's fairgrounds promote the Golden State's proud agricultural history and foster the education of future generations about the connection between food and farming and promote the conservation of natural resources, including water, and the importance of water to California farms and cities. 4)California's fairgrounds are gathering places for the state's diverse ethnic populations, veterans groups, and other organizations.
