The following information is revised to reflect amendments
adopted by the committee on August 27, 2015
Bill
Summary: AB 316 would exempt veterinarians licensed in other
states from state licensure requirements when offering temporary
veterinary services in response to a "cruelty incident" and
allow the operation of temporary animal shelters.
Fiscal
Impact: No significant fiscal impact is anticipated to the
Board of Veterinary Medicine. The amendments delete the
requirement for authorization from the Board, which eliminates
the need for upgrades to the Board's licensing system.

Amendments: Revise the bill by moving the exemption from
current licensing requirements to an existing provision of law
