FISCAL EFFECT:
Any costs to the Veterinary Medical Board are minor and
absorbable.
COMMENTS:
1)Purpose. This bill intends to facilitate the establishment of
temporary shelter facilities for the purpose of animal care
during a state of emergency, by clarifying the conditions that
must be met in order to be exempt from normal "premises
requirements" for veterinary care facilities.
2)Related Legislation. AB 316 (Maienschein) permits a
veterinarian licensed in another state to attend to cases of
animal cruelty or animal fighting in California.
