SUMMARY:
This bill requires the Director of General Services (DGS)-when
providing notification, pursuant to current law, to the chairs
of the appropriations committees and the chair of the Joint

Legislative Budget Committee regarding a pending state agency
lease agreement with a firm term of at least five years and
annual rent exceeding $10,000-to also notify the chairs of the
appropriate policy committee in each house.
FISCAL EFFECT:
Negligible fiscal impact.
COMMENTS:
Purpose. This bill seeks to increase legislative oversight by
requiring DGS to also include the Assembly Accountability and
Administrative Review Committee and the Senate Governmental
Organization Committee in notifications of building leases for
state agencies.
