Summary: AB 498 would declare that it is the policy of the
state to promote the voluntary protection of wildlife corridors
and habitat strongholds, including through the acquisition of
conservation easements, installation of wildlife-friending
fencing, creation of mitigation and conservation banks, and the
building of infrastr5ucture such as roadway undercrossings to
allow for movement of wildlife between habitat areas.
