Fiscal Impact: One-time costs of approximately $200,000 (Transportation Reimbursement Account) to the CPUC for information technology updates. Some or all of these costs will be offset by permit application fees. Unknown increase in penalty and application fee revenue. Author Amendments: The amendments: Add the CPUC permit fee amounts and penalty amounts. Allow cities to limit the number of taxis that are authorized to use the taxi stands or pick up street hails. Make the CPUC the public agency to receive the driver background check results Allow data sharing with cities for transportation and environmental planning purposes.
