   An act to amend Section 37104 of the Government Code, relating to
local government.

   AB 783, as introduced, Daly. Cities: legislative body.
   Existing law authorizes the legislative body of a city to issue
subpoenas requiring the attendance of witnesses or production of
books or other documents for evidence or testimony in any action or
proceeding pending before the legislative body.
   This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to this provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 37104 of the Government Code is amended to
read:
   37104.  The legislative body may issue  subpenas 
 subpoenas  requiring attendance of witnesses or production
of books or other documents for evidence or testimony in any action
or proceeding pending before it.
