February 26, 2015

An act to amend Section 1625 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to dentistry.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 880, as introduced, Ridley-Thomas. Dentistry.

The Dental Practice Act provides for the licensure and regulation of persons engaged in the practice of dentistry by the Dental Board of California. The act defines dentistry as the diagnosis or treatment, by surgery or other method, of diseases and lesions and the correction of malpositions of the human teeth, alveolar process, gums, jaws, or associated structures, and provides that a person practices dentistry if that person performs various specified acts.

This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
