As a result of merging the two provisions, information regarding "other electronic media" (i.e., other than email addresses and websites) may be disseminated for off-sale retailers. FISCAL EFFECT: AB 973 Page 2 Minor and absorbable enforcement costs to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. COMMENTS: Purpose. According to the author, alcohol suppliers increasingly reference Facebook fan pages and other social media sites of retail locations when marketing their products. This measure will harmonize the rules for on-sale and off-sale retailers and allow dissemination of retail information on new media platforms for all types of retailers.
