   An act to amend Section 11360 of the Business and Professions
Code, relating to professions and vocations.

   AB 1381, as introduced, Weber. Real estate appraisers.
   Existing law provides for the licensure, certification, and
regulation of persons who engage in specified real estate appraisal
activity by the Chief of the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers.
Existing law authorizes the chief to adopt regulations relating to
the license renewal process that include continuing education
requirements.
   This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that latter
provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 11360 of the Business and Professions Code is
amended to read:
   11360.  (a) The director shall adopt regulations governing the
process and procedures for renewal of a license  which
  that  shall include, but not be limited to,
continuing education requirements, which shall be reported on the
basis of four-year continuing education cycles.
   (b) An applicant for renewal of a license shall be required to
demonstrate his or her continuing fitness to hold a license prior to
its renewal. Applicants shall also fulfill continuing education
requirements established pursuant to this section and shall be
required to take a minimum of four hours of federal and California
appraisal related statutory and regulatory law every four years.
   (c) This section shall become operative on January 1, 2013.
