   An act relating to care facilities.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1387, as introduced, Chu. Care facilities: civil penalties:
appeals.
   Existing law establishes the State Department of Social Services
and sets forth its powers and duties, including, but not limited to,
the licensing and administration of community care facilities,
residential care facilities for persons with chronic life-threatening
illnesses, residential care facilities for the elderly, child day
care centers, and family day care homes.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would revise the appeal procedures for a deficiency
of a care facility licensed by the State Department of Social
Services.
