The following information is revised to reflect amendments
adopted by the committee on August 27, 2015
Bill
Summary: AB 1518 would require the Department of Health Care
Services to apply for federal approval for an additional 5,000
slots under the home- and community-based Nursing Facility/Acute
Hospital Waiver.
Fiscal
Impact: Annual administrative costs of about $5.5 million per
year ($2.0 million General Fund) for the Department of Health
Care Services to enroll participants in the waiver program,
provide case management, and program management.
Committee
Amendments: Delete all the changes to current law in the bill
except the requirement that the Department apply for an
