An act relating to emergency medical services, making an
appropriation therefor, and declaring the urgency thereof, to take
effect immediately.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 1578, as introduced, Rodriguez. Emergency medical services:
mobile field hospitals.
Existing law establishes the Emergency Medical Services Authority
in the Health and Welfare Agency to administer a statewide system of
coordinated emergency medical care, injury prevention, and disaster
medical response.
This bill would appropriate $2,000,000 from the General Fund to
provide for the maintenance and upkeep of mobile field hospitals
within the Mobile Field Hospital program.
This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as
an urgency statute.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) is hereby
appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of Emergency
Services to provide for the maintenance and upkeep of mobile field
hospitals within the Mobile Field Hospital program.
SEC. 2. This act is an urgency statute necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, or safety within the
meaning of Article IV of the Constitution and shall go into immediate
effect. The facts constituting the necessity are:
In order to provide for maintenance and upkeep of the three mobile
field hospitals within the Mobile Field Hospital program to ensure
adequate preparedness for disasters and emergencies, it is necessary
that this act take effect immediately.
