California Legislature—2015–16 Regular Session

Assembly BillNo. 1852

Introduced by Assembly Member Lackey

February 10, 2016

An act to amend Section 10220 of the Public Contract Code, relating to public contracts.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 1852, as introduced, Lackey. State contracts: contract requirements.

The State Contracting Act governs state contracts for public works projects and requires that a contract be rewarded to the lowest responsible bidder, as specified. This act requires contracts awarded by state agencies to be submitted to the Attorney General or the appointed attorney as specified, and provides that the contract is not binding on the state until the attorney finds it to be in accordance with the act.

This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that provision.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.
