An act to amend Section 35400.5 of the Vehicle Code, relating to vehicles.

Existing law prohibits a vehicle from exceeding a length of 40 feet, except for a motortruck used solely as a cotton module mover and that does not exceed 48 feet in length.

This bill would instead exempt a motortruck used solely as a cotton module mover and that does not exceed 53 feet in length from that prohibition.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 35400.5 of the Vehicle Code is amended
to read:

35400.5.  

Subdivision (a) of Section 35400 does not apply to
a motortruck used solely as a cotton module mover and begin delete which end delete begin insert that end insert
does not exceed begin delete 48 end delete begin insert 53 end insert feet in length.
