California Legislature—2015–16 Regular Session

Assembly BillNo. 2173

Introduced by Assembly Member Jones

February 18, 2016

An act relating to alcoholic beverages.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 2173, as introduced, Jones. Winegrowers.

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act authorizes a person issued a winegrower’s license to conduct various activities within the state, including to conduct winetastings on the winegrower’s licensed premises.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would allow a winegrower that leases, rather than owns, the land upon which the winegrower’s vineyard or tasting room sits to have picnic facilities on that land.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

P1    1

SECTION 1.

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2legislation that would allow a winegrower that leases, rather than
3owns, the land upon which the winegrower’s vineyard or tasting
4room sits to have picnic facilities on that land.
