Bill Summary: AB 2191 would extend the statutory sunset on the Board of Behavioral Sciences until January 1, 2021. Fiscal Impact: Ongoing costs of $11 million per year for the continued operation of the Board of Behavioral Sciences (Behavioral Science Examiners Fund). All costs to operate the Board are paid for with license fees. Background: Under current law, the Board of Behavioral Sciences licenses and regulates the practice of educational psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional clinical counselors.
