An act to amend Section 2460 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to professions and vocations.

Existing law provides for the certification and regulation of podiatrists by the California Board of Podiatric Medicine within the jurisdiction of the Medical Board of California. Under existing law, the California Board of Podiatric Medicine will be repealed on January 1, 2017.

This bill would extend the operation of the California Board of Podiatric Medicine until January 1, 2021.

SECTION 1.  

Section 2460 of the Business and Professions

is amended to read:

2460.  

(a) There is created within the jurisdiction of the Medical
4Board of California the California Board of Podiatric Medicine.

5(b) This section shall remain in effect only until January 1,begin delete 2017,end delete
6begin insert 2021,end insert and as of that date isbegin delete repealed, unless a later enacted statute,
