An act to amend Section 25258 of the Vehicle Code, relating to vehicles.

SECTION 1.  

Section 25258 of the Vehicle Code is amended
2to read:

25258.  

(a) An authorized emergency vehicle operating under
4the conditions specified in Section 21055 may display a flashing
5white light from a gaseous discharge lamp designed and used for
6the purpose of controlling official traffic control signals.

18warning light, he or she shall complete an emergency vehicle
19operations course certified by the Commission on Peace Officer
20Standards and Training.

21(c) Except as provided in subdivision (a), a vehicle shall not be
22equipped with a device that emits any illumination or radiation
23that is designed or used for the purpose of controlling official
24traffic control signals.
