To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 2607 without my signature.

This bill expands the list of individuals who are authorized to
petition for a gun violence restraining order.

In 2014, I signed Assembly Bill 1014 which allowed immediate family
members and members of  law enforcement to petition for a gun
violence restraining order.  That law took effect on January 1, 2016,
so at this point it would be premature to enact a further expansion.
