Existing law requires each state agency and certain designated state entities to annually report to the Department of Technology a summary of its actual and projected information technology and telecommunications costs, as specified.
This bill would additionally require these state agencies and entities to annually report to the department, beginning on or beforebegin delete February 1, 2017,end deletebegin insert January 1, 2018,end insert a summary ofbegin delete thereend deletebegin insert itsend insert actual and projected information security
costs, as specified.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 11546.2 of the Government Code is
2amended to read:
(a) On or before February 1 of every year, each state
2agency and state entity subject to Section 11546.1, shall submit,
3as instructed by the Department of Technology, a summary of its
4actual and projected information technology and
5telecommunications costs, including, but not limited to, personnel,
6for the immediately preceding fiscal year and current fiscal year,
7showing current expenses and projected expenses for the current
8fiscal year, in a format prescribed by the Department of Technology
9in order to capture statewide information technology expenditures.
10(b) On or beforebegin delete February 1, 2017,end deletebegin insert
January 1, 2018,end insert and
11annually thereafter, each state agency and state entity subject to
12Section 11546.1 shall submit, as instructedbegin insert and in a format
13prescribedend insert by the Department of Technology, a summary of its
14actual and projected information security costs, including, but not
15limited to, personnel, for the immediately preceding fiscal year
16and current fiscal year, showing current expenses and projected
17expenses for the current fiscal year,begin delete in a format prescribed by the in order to capture statewide
