          2 (Gaines) - As Introduced December 5, 2014

          SENATE VOTE: 37-0

SUBJECT: Eugene "Gene" Chappie Memorial Highway.

SUMMARY: Designates a segment of State Route (SR) 193 in El

          Specifically, this resolution:

1)Recounts the lifetime accomplishments of Mr. Eugene "Gene"
Chappie, a long-time resident, rancher, elected official, and
public servant of El Dorado County as well as a World War II
            veteran.

2)Designates a segment of SR 193 in El Dorado County between SR
49 and Cramer Road as the "Eugene 'Gene' Chappie Memorial
            Highway."

3)Requests that the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) determine the cost of appropriate signs, consistent

from non-state sources covering that cost, to erect those
            signs.

EXISTING LAW: Assigns Caltrans the responsibility of operating
and maintaining state highways including the installation and

          non-state sources covering the cost.
