SUMMARY:
This measure designates, as the "Special Deputy Frank Hamilton
Memorial Highway," the portion of State Route 371 from Howard
Road to Tribal Road in Anza (Riverside County).

FISCAL EFFECT:
Minor State Highway Account costs to Caltrans to make and erect
appropriate signs; these costs are fully covered by donations.
COMMENTS:
Purpose. This measure honors Deputy Sheriff Hamilton, who died
from a gunshot wound on April 9, 1895. He was the first deputy
sheriff killed in the line of duty in Riverside County, which
was incorporated in May 1893.
