          DIGEST:  This resolution recognizes July 2015 as California  
          Kindness Month.


          ANALYSIS:  This resolution makes the following legislative  
          findings:


          1)Upon the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Orange  
            County, California in celebration of his 80th birthday, the  
            Legislature of the State of California designates the month of  
            July 2015 as "Kindness Month."


          2)The State of California is home to almost 40 million residents  
            of varied ages, cultures, ethnicities, and religions who all  
            embrace a foundation of kindness.


          3)An "Acts of Kindness" Campaign will launch on July 12, 2015,  
            to promote "Kindness Month" among our residents, and the "Acts  
            of Kindness" Campaign aims to encourage residents to adopt a  
            kinder disposition toward each other by pledging to perform  
            one random selfless act of kindness.

          4)Studies have shown that performing acts of kindness can  
            increase happiness, boost one's personal satisfaction, and  
            encourage altruism.


          5)We believe that this effort will bring our residents closer  
            together, thereby having an immeasurable and positive,  
            long-term impact on the well-being of the State of California.


          This resolution recognizes July 2015 as California Kindness  
          Month.
