An act to repeal Section 5096.828 of the Public Resources Code,
relating to disaster preparedness and flood prevention.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 113, as introduced, Galgiani. Disaster Preparedness and Flood
Prevention Bond Act of 2006.
The Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention Bond Act of 2006
authorizes bonds in the amount of $4,090,000,000 for the purposes of
financing disaster preparedness and flood prevention projects. Funds
provided by the act are only available for appropriation until July
1, 2016, and at that time the amount of indebtedness authorized by
the act is reduced by the amount of funds that have not been
appropriated.
This bill would remove the restriction that the funds are
available for appropriation only until July 1, 2016.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 5096.828 of the Public Resources Code is
repealed.
5096.828. Funds provided by this article are only available for
appropriation until July 1, 2016, and at that time the amount of
indebtedness authorized by this chapter shall be reduced by the
amount of funds provided by this article that have not been
appropriated.
