          DIGEST:  This resolution designates a portion of State Highway  
          Route 50 as the Firefighter Michael "Mikey" Hallenbeck Memorial  
          Highway.


          ANALYSIS:  This resolution designates a portion of State Highway  
          Route 50 from post mile R61.845 to post mile R66.483 as the  
          Firefighter Michael "Mikey" Hallenbeck Memorial Highway.  This  
          resolution also requests the Department of Transportation to  
          determine the cost of appropriate signs showing this special  
          designation and, upon receiving donations from non-state sources  
          covering that cost, to erect those signs.

          Background  
          
          Michael "Mikey" Hallenbeck, a resident of Shingle Springs, was a

          firefighter working as a member of Organized Crew 36 of the Lake  
          Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the United States Forest Service.  
           While fighting the Sierra Fire in August 2015, Michael was  
          killed by a falling tree.
          
          Comments

          Purpose.  This resolution is intended to honor the life and  
          service of Michael "Mikey" Hallenbeck.
