An act to amend Section 12288 of the Elections Code, relating to elections.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

SB 169, as introduced, Gaines. Elections: polling places.

Existing law requires an elections official to divide a jurisdiction into precincts and publish, not less than 1 week before the election, the list of the polling places designated for each election precinct. Existing law prohibits a place where the primary purpose of the establishment is the sale and dispensation of alcoholic beverages from being used as a polling place.

This bill will make technical, nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision.
