          Highway 80 (I-80) in Placer County as the Deputy Sheriff Michael  
          D. Davis, Jr. Memorial Interchange.

          Assembly Amendments make technical, clarifying changes.


          ANALYSIS: 


          This resolution:  


          1)Recounts the life and accomplishments of Michael David Davis,  
            Jr., a deputy sheriff in the Placer County Sheriff's Office.


          2)Designates the portion of I-80 at the Horseshoe Bar Road  
            Interchange in Placer County as the Deputy Sheriff Michael D.  
            Davis, Jr. Memorial Interchange.


          3)Requests that the California Department of Transportation  
            determine the cost of appropriate signs, consistent with the  
            signing requirements for the state highway system, showing the  
            special designation and, upon receiving donations from  
            non-state sources covering that cost, to erect those signs.
