          DIGEST: This resolution designates a portion of State Highway  
          Route 50 in El Dorado County as the Deputy Sheriff Danny P.  
          Oliver Memorial Highway.

          ANALYSIS:  This resolution designates a portion of State Highway  
          Route 50 in El Dorado County from post mile 4.962 to post mile  
          6.570 as the Deputy Sheriff Danny P. Oliver Memorial Highway.   
          This resolution also requests the Department of Transportation  
          to determine the cost of appropriate signs showing this special  
          designation and, upon receiving donations from non-state sources  
          covering that cost, to erect those signs.

          Comments

          1)Purpose.  This resolution is intended to honor the life and  
            service of Deputy Sheriff Danny P. Oliver.

          2)Background.  Danny P. Oliver grew up in the Del Paso Heights  
            neighborhood of Sacramento, graduating from Grant High School.  
             He joined the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in 1999  
            and was a dedicated street cop.  On October 24, 2014, in the  
            parking lot of a hotel in Sacramento County, Deputy Sheriff  
            Oliver was investigating a suspicious vehicle.  An occupant of  
            the vehicle opened fire on Deputy Sheriff Oliver, killing him.
